St Martin's Church
Henry Woodyer (1816-1896)
1874
Dorking, Surrey
Woodyer, who was influenced by Pugin and something of an eccentric, went in for what Giles Worsley calls "bold spires and impressive chancels" in a "muscular Gothic" style. St Martin's Church is the third church on a site first recorded as a place of worship in the Domesday Book.
